State and international laws vary with regard to licensing and requirements to practice hypnotherapy to treat mental and physical health problems. Local laws always override Certification. Please Google "Hypnotherapy Laws" or "Hypnosis" for your location before selecting a practitioner.

If a practitioner is licensed to practice hypnotherapy, the license number will be referenced with their listing.

NBCCH also certifies unlicensed hypnotist/coaches.  These practitioners are limited by most state laws to treatment of bad habits and good habits. This includes stop smoking, weight loss, sleep hygiene, and personal success of many kinds. It does NOT include treatment of mood, trauma resolution, nor any issue for which there is a diagnostic code that could be submitted to an insurance company.​
